The Beef Tataki features tender, seared Alberta Angus beef, delicately seasoned and served just shy of rare, offering a smoky and luscious bite. Fans of deluxe seafood options will relish the Lobster Dinner and the Lobster Sashimi Deluxe, both promising a juicy, sweet texture that melts on your tongue.
For those seeking intricate rolls, the Koto Chef Special Maki Roll is a standout: premium Angus beef draped over a crunchy fried long bean roll, enhanced by pops of tobiko and creamy mayonnaise, finished with a drizzle of unagi sauce and crispy onions for a symphony of textures and flavors. The Crab Paradise roll combines imitation crab, prawn tempura, mango aioli, and seaweed powder, forging a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and tangy notes that excite the senses.
Seafood lovers will find pure delight in the fresh and diverse sashimi selections, such as the Smoked Hamachi Sashimi, bursting with smoky richness, or the luxurious Uni Sea Urchin, velvety and ocean-fresh. The Unagi Sashimi presents grilled freshwater eel glazed in sweet soy and sprinkled with sesame, teasing taste buds with its melt-in-your-mouth silkiness and subtle sweetness. Don’t miss the inventive Shake Sashimi, where Atlantic salmon is finely chopped and enlivened with the bold kick of spicy volcano sauce.

This restaurant was bigger than I was expecting. Made a reservation and came for lunch. Large variety of Sashimi and Rolls. Food arrived quite fast after we ordered. The rolls were large and creative. The sashimi tasted fresh. We were not fans of the gyoza, and we would not order those again.
Amazing experience buck a shuck oysters were such a treat very fresh and delicious with their house ponzu sauce and tobacco. The servers were extraordinary and friendly. Will be coming back thanks for a great experience!
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the staff for being incredibly attentive, friendly, and genuinely kind. They went above and beyond to assist us when my husband wasn’t feeling well (and it wasn’t food-related). Their support made a difference during our visit. The food was incredibly good to and they had to pack the rest for us to take home.
I’m not sure what others are saying, but we loved our experience here. The food—especially the oysters—was incredibly fresh and served on ice. The ponzu sauce made them even better. While the sushi wasn’t as flavorful as I expected, the other dishes were fantastic. We came during happy hour, so a few items were sold out, but overall it was a great experience.
Stopped in for a spur of the moment quick bite during a walk with my grandmother and young kids, and it was a great experience. The hostess and server were very attentive with everything, dishes were cleared quickly, we were checked on sufficiently and just had water today but it was always filled. The food was fresh and great quality. They also had a special on for oysters today that I didn’t take advantage of but a fantastic price for it for sure. It is definitely good prices overall on their menu compared to the menu items and quality. It’s a cool and delicious downtown restaurant right near so many things to see and do otherwise with good service. If you have kids bring something for them to stay occupied as they don’t have that here. It was still great though.
My wife and I came here for their Valentine’s Day promotion, and it was absolutely amazing. Pretty sure it was a seven-course meal, ending with a delicious cheesecake and fresh fruit. The portions were more than enough for a regular person—but of course, I still ordered a little extra on the side. Everything was super fresh and packed with flavor. The service was just as great as the food. The staff was so attentive, friendly, and genuinely kind. And the atmosphere? Perfect. The lighting and music really set the mood. Easily a 10/10. Highly recommend!
For years, we've stayed away from downtown Calgary; however, we learned about Koto's happy hour and oyster deal so we thought, hey, let's give it a try. Parking has always been an issue, but past 6 pm, street parking was not a problem. Lots of tables. Great smiling staff. Quick service. Clean. And most of all, we're happy with the quality of the oysters and sashimi. We definitely would be back!
